After months of research we chose Mike and NJGCB to build us our dream home in Paramus. We couldn’t be happier with our decision. There are many builders out there that don’t have a clue on construction, just sub everything out, but with NJ GCB you are getting a builder that understands construction. From foundation to framing, to water drainage to the roof and everything in between. We had massive storms sweep our neighborhood this summer and not an ounce of water anywhere! Not only is the construction on point, so is the team! From Levan the site manager on site to Peter and Nermine in the office, everyone took care of this house build as if it was their own. We not only built custom, but I was very particular of what I wanted, and they listened and delivered!! Truly impressed by their systems in place to document, communicate and capture all our details as we customized every inch of the project! This is our forever home and we will be forever grateful to NJGCB for all the hard work, dedication and commitment they put in. If we had to do it again, will definitely select Mike and his team again! Thank you Mike, Levan, Peter, Nermine and everyone else!!

We used New Jersey Contractors and Builders for a new construction home. The process was seamless at first, and they were willing to customize the property, which many builders won’t do. We’re happy with the structural build (foundation, French drains, insulation), and they were patient with us on closing day when we hit some issues, and we appreciated their patience. Levan (our project manager) was extremely helpful and did his best to address our issues.A few things future buyers should know:• Get everything in writing through an attorney. What’s included vs. an upgrade. They will deny what was discussed verbally.• Negotiate upgrade pricing through your attorney too. Prices kept changing on us after we’d agreed.• Don’t rely on their 1-year warranty being honored quickly. They drag things out past the window. We had to file a formal claim, and only after the warranty company mentioned arbitration did they fix most items. It still took two years, and some issues remain open.• Their unreliability extends to their vendors. We’ve received calls from their quartz supplier about unpaid material and installation costs for our home. You’ll find another review here from a pool company reporting the same issue.Updating my review based on the response to this review:• We negotiated a price $50K below the original quote by removing some upgrades (floating stairs, cement fiber panels, fence, and a few others). We signed when it was a buyer’s market, and prices happened to skyrocket over the following year - a gamble we both took. So the “$250K below asking” claim is misleading.• The closing timeline was negotiated before the contract was drafted and the agreed timeline was documented in it; we appreciated that flexibility. But since NJGCB stood to lose money the longer it dragged on, we ultimately closed a month earlier than what was in the contract. We tried to be good customers too and support their business 🙂.

Overall, we are very pleased with the work the team has done from the very beginning. Throughout the entire design process, they have listened carefully to our ideas and have done an excellent job interpreting what we want for our new home.As the project progressed, we had requested several changes and revisions. Each time, the team had been responsive, listened to our feedback, and incorporated those changes step by step. We appreciate their patience and willingness to work with us as the design has evolved.At this point, we are satisfied with the plans from the Architecture team and with the progress that had been made. We are very satisfied with their professionalism, communication, and the quality of their work, and we appreciate their efforts throughout this process.

We recently moved into our new construction home built by NJGCP, and we couldn't be happier with the experience. From the moment we first walked through the finished home, it was clear that this was built with meticulous attention to detail — every corner, every finish, every joint done right. The quality of materials used throughout the home is exceptional, and you can truly feel the difference in everything from the fixtures to the framing. Two weeks in and I'm still discovering new unique features of the home that I wasn't even aware of — that's how much thought and care went into the build.A special shoutout to Levan, our project manager, who has been outstanding. Even after we moved in two weeks ago, he has remained incredibly attentive and responsive, making sure everything is exactly as it should be. That kind of follow-through after closing says a lot about the integrity of the company.If you're looking for a builder who takes pride in their craft and stands behind their work, NJGCP is the one. Mike, Levan and the team have been so collaborative throughout the entire process - including post sale and through over 1 year of ownership. These guys care about what they do and the beautiful homes they build not only stand on their own but serve as a symbol for their first rate service. We bought our current home “on spec” but no question in my mind who I would use for a custom build.

Our Experience with NJ General Contractors – Unprofessional, Disrespectful, and UntrustworthyFirst, they got us to give a deep discount for two pools, yet they never started the second pool, even though the permit for it came out first. It’s obvious now this was a tactic to secure a discount and promises for more work without intending to deliver.From there, our experience only got worse:• Job site unprepared: The site was not graded or prepared as agreed when our crew arrived.• Cutting corners at the expense of quality: They repeatedly cut corners, leaving end clients with products where the pool coping did not match the pool itself.• Misrepresentation to clients: They sold end users materials or products that did not match for multimillion dollar project.• Change orders ignored: We requested changes, got approval, completed the work, and they refused to pay for the changes. This contractor’s focus on taking advantage of subcontractors is clear.• Payment and respect issues: Agreed-upon payment schedules were ignored or delayed, and when we called them out on unethical practices, they became upset that we did not allow them to cheat us.• Project changes after town approval: Even after municipal approvals, they demanded changes to the scope and tried to avoid paying for work already completed.• Delays and hidden fees: Timelines extended by months, and fees for work already included in the contract appeared unexpectedly.Advice for NJ homeowners and subcontractors:• Get everything in writing• Confirm payment schedules and enforce them• Document all communications• Watch for tactics to secure discounts or avoid paying for completed work• Be prepared for unexpected changes, hidden costs, and unprofessional behaviorOur experience makes it clear: this contractor operates without transparency, professionalism, or integrity. If you want a project completed correctly, on time, and without constant stress, do not rely on them.

Just bought a house built by NJ GCB - it was nearly built when we put in the offer. The house is very well built and well insulated. Many vendors have come by and complimented the build (plumber, hvac specialist, water filtration, electrician, etc.). We are very happy with the home. The project manager, Levan has been excellent to communicate with and has been extremely helpful.

Wanted to add an update, at 1 year of the closing of our house. Mike and Levan have been incredible at making sure our house was well taken care of. Any problems that stood out were addressed timely and special consideration were given to issues that were time-sensitive in nature. Levan has been more than instrumental in dealing with all types of issues (some involving multiple vendors at times) and ensuring they are timely fixed. His commitment to the job of making sure the home owners are happy is second to none! It feels gratifying that we have purchased our house from a team that really cares about providing a great experience to the buyers, than just treating it as a transaction. Amazing job overall!

What a journey! Over the past 10 months, we've had the pleasure of working with Mickael on our new dream home. The process was smooth from planning to delivery. Mickael consistently addressed any concerns we had and provided regular updates throughout the construction. I have lived in this new home for a year and am very satisfied with the build quality and comfort. First the design of the house is beautiful and we continue to get compliments.Like all new homes, there have been a few hiccups and things requiring fixing however I cannot laud Mikael enough for being responsive and respectful to all my questions and concerns. It was an incredible experience working with NJGCB to build our new house. It was our first time working with Mike so we did not necessarily know what to expect. Our initial discussions were promising although we had a lot of expectations in terms of what we wanted our home to look and feel like. Many of the customizations we wanted weren't necessarily the easiest changes to make but we thoroughly enjoyed NJGCB's approach to the whole process. Mike and his team are very practical and understanding when it comes to the building process. They focus on the cosmetics with as much detail as they do with the whole structural integrity of the house and they will work with you until you are satisfied with the results. One of the main things that stood out to us through the process is how responsive they are. We had a lot of questions throughout the whole process and they created a group chat for us and stayed highly available answering all our questions. Mike kept himself very professional through the process but he was also very accommodating of some of the things we told him we timely needed. We found him to not only be very knowledgeable about everything related to new construction but most of all we found him to be a very genuine and trustworthy human being (which is not at all easy to find!). Our new house is already built and complete but if we (or our friends/family) ever decide to go for a new one we already know who we are going to go with! 🙂

Phone call with company was very unprofessional, ask simple questions about a project and was laughed at by whoever's it was who answered. My home had been damaged due to a truck destroying the foundation and was told by insurance company to find a GC, Obviously not a top rate company because they were not willing to work with me to get my business on rebuilding my home, and told me, very arrogantly, they dont do that type of work. So I will most likely be hiring their competitors because the guy in charge thinks it is proper business to arrogantly laugh someone off the phone like I was wasting his time.

Mike and the team have all been amazing to work with. They took over a job from another contractor I had to fire due to a lack of quality and performance. NJGCB has been a polar opposite the team is hard working, clean, organized, and detailed.They have been gut renovating an apartment for me. The apartment included a new kitchen, hardwood floors, bathroom, new windows, moving walls, all new electrical and plumbing. Also finishing a basement inclusive of sump pump and French drain, pouring a new slab, and installing washers and dryers for my tenants to use. All in a brownstone circa the 1880s in Jersey City.I have already recommended them to multiple friends and coworkers and plan to use them for any and all renovations I have in the area in the future!

NJGCB did great work on my house, they raised it and redid the foundation since it was damaged. Mickeal was very nice and tentative to my requests and did a great job. I recommend to all my family's houses that were damaged in the hurricane.

They are very professional and efficient. I know when I call them to do something they will do it right from the first time. The owner is a structural engineer if I recall correctly and he takes all the precautions to do the job and design right from the beginning.

Like many others, I felt the devastating effects of Hurricane Sandy, but how I chose to recover was the real challenge. I was referred to NJ General Contractors from a friend and could not have been happier with my decision. They were productive in helping me with the NJ RREM program. NJGCB Construction is restoring my faith in contractors. We've had some bad experiences over the last few years that have made us very reluctant to engage contractors unless we absolutely have to do so.NJGCB were terrific to work with. They are extraordinarily attentive and communicative and their workmanship is superb. I look forward to working with them again. All the pricing was transparent, every job quoted separately, so at all times we knew where we are with the expenses. We had a great designer, that followed our instructions (wishes), yet would always guide us toward sensible solutions that would save us money.We highly recommend this company and would definitely use them again.
